Film Review: Boredom Awaits During ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’ with Cameron Diaz
Submitted by BrianTT on May 18, 2012 - 10:16am.CHICAGO – “Battleship” is getting a lot of flack this week for having little to do with its alleged source. I would argue that the awful “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” is even more dishonest when it comes to its inspiration.

Blu-ray Review: ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 1’ Comes Loaded With Special Features
Submitted by BrianTT on February 13, 2012 - 9:55pm.CHICAGO – From the very beginning, one can tell that “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1” has been dramatically stretched to meet the running time of two feature-length films. And let’s just saying pacing was never this franchise’s strong suit to begin with. More time for moping, more time for pained expressions, more time for shirtless action equals more time for the film’s most significant problems to take over. And that’s just what they do here.

Blu-ray Review: Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Great ‘50/50’
Submitted by BrianTT on February 1, 2012 - 5:09pm.CHICAGO – There’s some wonderful alternate universe where the excellent “50/50” received the Oscar recognition it deserved last week and it at LEAST notched a Best Original Screenplay nomination while the performances by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anna Kendrick, and Anjelica Huston were considered for their categories. Then again, in that universe at least half the Oscar nominations were different and at least one of the Best Picture nominees was never made. The point is that Jonathan Levine’s daring cancer comedy got screwed. Catch up with it on Blu-ray or DVD and see if you agree.
Interviews: Daniel Cudmore, Alex Meraz of ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 1’
Submitted by PatrickMcD on December 8, 2011 - 5:43pm.CHICAGO – For three weeks in a row, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1” has been number one at the box office, to no real surprise. The thirst for this popular saga is almost as desperate as a vampire’s blood lust. Daniel Cudmore and Alex Meraz are part of the now well-known cast.
Film Review: ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 1’ Hardly Even Bewitches Twi-Hards
Submitted by HollywoodChicago.com on November 18, 2011 - 6:16pm.CHICAGO – The bloated franchise’s worst film without question, the fourth “Twilight” popcorn flick is a futile exercise on the disappointment of anti-climactic waiting.

Film Review: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen in Moving ‘50/50’
Submitted by BrianTT on September 30, 2011 - 9:10am.CHICAGO – Jonathan Levine’s “50/50” is a daring blend of buddy comedy, light romance, family drama, and, oh yeah, cancer movie. The tightrope act of a script by Will Reiser is elevated in remarkable ways by one of the best ensembles of the year, led ably by the great Joseph Gordon-Levitt, doing career-best, Oscar nomination-worthy work.
Interview: Seth Rogen, Will Reiser Bet on Cancer Comedy ‘50/50’
Submitted by BrianTT on September 28, 2011 - 2:48pm.CHICAGO – “A cancer comedy”. It had to be a tough sell. How do you sell a buddy movie in which one of them is probably going to die from the big C? It was a risky proposition. And yet the chorus of acclaim for “50/50” proves that Seth Rogen was right to convince his buddy Will Reiser to turn his true story into a fictional comedy.
