Film Review: Keanu Reeves in Ludicrous Premise as ‘John Wick’
Submitted by PatrickMcD on October 24, 2014 - 4:41pmCHICAGO – Keanu Reeves has been in a lot of dogs over the years, but rarely has he left such a high body count while avenging one of them. “John Wick” is a brutal revenge thriller where Reeves is a ex-mob enforcer who goes on a murderous rampage leaving blood on every doorstep to avenge the death of his dog.
Blu-ray Review: Features-Packed Edition of ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’
Submitted by BrianTT on August 6, 2013 - 1:06pmCHICAGO – “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” may have been overly slammed by critics but audiences definitely liked the film, pushing it to over $370 million worldwide, more than 20% more than its predecessor (even if the domestic total for the sequel was less than the first film). Paramount has put together a solid release for the film, including over an hour of behind-the-scenes featurettes, deleted scenes, a commentary track, and a great transfer. It’s what one wants from a major theatrical Blu-ray.
Film Review: ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’ Almost Turns Macho Stupidity Into Art
Submitted by BrianTT on March 28, 2013 - 8:40amCHICAGO – “G.I. It nearly works in March. Nearly.

But the film takes a ‘“damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead,” approach, and pulls off an adrenaline rush featuring Chris Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson and Josh Peck.

TV Review: FOX’s ‘Lone Star’ Features Charismatic Cast, Intriguing Premise
Submitted by BrianTT on September 20, 2010 - 8:02amCHICAGO – In a world where it’s becoming increasingly difficult for many people to hold one job or keep together one family, it’s not hard to see audiences entertained by watching a man try to juggle two of each.
Blu-Ray Review: Awful ‘Legion’ With Paul Bettany, Dennis Quaid
Submitted by BrianTT on May 18, 2010 - 10:43amCHICAGO – It’s hard to say what about “Legion” is the film’s worst offense: some of the most laughable dialogue of the year, mediocre special effects, uninteresting characters, or truly bad performances. Yes, “Legion” is a head-scratchingly horrible movie. Take your pick. It’s all wrong.
