TV Review: Get on the Streets with ‘Boston’s Finest’
Submitted by BrianTT on February 27, 2013 - 12:43pmCHICAGO – “Cops,” “The First 48” — people love getting on the ground with real cops, the men and women who fight crime in an increasingly dangerous world. There’s something about riding along with law enforcers that is instantly engaging — the danger, the side of society we don’t often see, the real-life action.
DVD Review: Detailed Featurettes Round Out Set For ‘Blue Bloods: The Second Season’
Submitted by BrianTT on September 19, 2012 - 6:04pmCHICAGO – Honestly, most special features on DVD-only season releases for shows that don’t have gigantic followings are pure filler. They’re typically made up of the talking-head footage that a network uses to sell a show to publicists or advertisers and offer little insight into the series. That’s why it’s nice to see a show like “Blue Bloods,” a modest hit but far from a big one, get some strong supporting material for its diehard fans.
DVD Review: Strong Packages For CBS Dramas ‘Blue Bloods,’ ‘The Good Wife’
Submitted by BrianTT on September 21, 2011 - 7:20pmCHICAGO – CBS’s “Blue Bloods” and “The Good Wife,” both recently released on DVD (first season for the former, second season for the latter), were interesting stories in April of this year as ratings watchdogs expressed concerns that either or both could be canceled despite loyal fan bases. Both were given the reprieve because they have viewers who just won’t give up on them. See why with this stellar pair of releases.

Submitted by PatrickMcD on September 24, 2010 - 5:34pmCHICAGO – Tom Selleck is back on series television, portraying the patriarch of a New York City cop dynasty in “Blue Bloods” (not a bad pun), but this time he is the Chief of Police over the whole city. He still has time for Sunday dinner with the family, and he’s inviting TV fans to the table.

Submitted by PatrickMcD on July 11, 2010 - 6:49amCHICAGO – Tess Gerritsen is in that situation that authors sometimes face – seeing her creations come to life in another medium. In this case, her characters Jane Rizzoli and Maura Isles are being personified in the new TNT Network drama, “Rizzoli & Isles,” starring Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander.
Blu-Ray Review: ‘Righteous Kill’ Represents New Low For Talented Actors
Submitted by BrianTT on January 9, 2009 - 1:05pmCHICAGO – “Is it killing time or is he just killing time?” If you don’t groan at a line of dialogue that shockingly horrendous then we’ve got a Blu-Ray release for you. Marking a new low in a baffling series of career decisions for two of the best actors of all time, “Righteous Kill” is as much an unqualified disaster on Blu-Ray as it was when critics ridiculed it and audiences ignored it in theaters.
Like a Bad ‘Law & Order,’ ‘Righteous Kill’ With Al Pacino, Robert De Niro Lacks ‘Heat’
Submitted by HollywoodChicago.com on September 12, 2008 - 3:37pmCHICAGO – Last fall, Francis Ford Coppola made the comment that Al Pacino and Robert De Niro (along with Jack Nicholson) had lost their ambition. Coppola essentially said they have been phoning in their performances and picking safer movies. “Righteous Kill” could be the case study to that argument.
