CHICAGO – While a musical stage play is known for its songs rather than dialogue or story, all has to be created. And the playwright for the opening-in-Chicago “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” is veteran actor, director and scribe Douglas McGrath. ‘Beautiful’ opens December 1st, 2015, at the Oriental Theatre in Chicago.
CHICAGO – Honestly, most special features on DVD-only season releases for shows that don’t have gigantic followings are pure filler. They’re typically made up of the talking-head footage that a network uses to sell a show to publicists or advertisers and offer little insight into the series. That’s why it’s nice to see a show like “Blue Bloods,” a modest hit but far from a big one, get some strong supporting material for its diehard fans.
CHICAGO – In the most interesting scheduling move of the Fall 2012 TV announcements, CBS is going to move “Two and a Half Men” to Thursday nights following “The Big Bang Theory.”
CHICAGO – America’s #1 TV network showed a sign of their force today by renewing EIGHTEEN programs from their reliable hits to shows that many considered to be on the bubble. The renewals include four comedies, nine dramas, three reality series, and two newsmagazines and include programs that currently air on every night of the week. CBS really is in charge.
CHICAGO – Brian Tallerico appears twice on Bill Moller’s program to take listener calls and discuss television programs including Smash, Being Human, Psych, Awake, Harry’s Law, The Good Wife, Parenthood, Pan Am, GCB, The Office, Franklin & Bash, Suits, Blue Bloods, and more!
CHICAGO – CBS’s “Blue Bloods” and “The Good Wife,” both recently released on DVD (first season for the former, second season for the latter), were interesting stories in April of this year as ratings watchdogs expressed concerns that either or both could be canceled despite loyal fan bases. Both were given the reprieve because they have viewers who just won’t give up on them. See why with this stellar pair of releases.
CHICAGO – Brian Tallerico guests on Bill Moller’s show on WGN-Radio in Chicago on Jue 4th, 2011 to take listener calls about what they think should be nominated for 2011 Emmys, including “Boardwalk Empire,” “Blue Bloods,” “Justified,” and more.
CHICAGO – We will know the full schedule tomorrow but CBS has been revealing it by bits and pieces all week, canceling “Mad Love” & “The Defenders,” renewing “Blue Bloods” & “Hawaii Five-0,” and giving us one of each today, canceling “Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior” and giving “CSI: NY” another year.
CHICAGO – The New York Times is reporting (but nowhere else yet so we’ll call it a “rumor”) that CBS will announce that three programs from the 2010-11 season will get a shot at breaking the sophomore slump — “Blue Bloods,” “Hawaii Five-0,” and “Mike & Molly”.
CHICAGO – A week from today - May 16, 2011 - the TV networks will begin the annual unveiling of their fall schedules, and a very-hazy picture will be much clearer by the end of next week. There will be a few miracles, but some hearts will surely be broken. With more programs on the bubble than ever before, what will be renewed and what will be shown the door?
