CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Ben Thompson on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on December 14th, 2023, reviewing “Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget,” the animated sequel to 2000’s “Chicken Run.” Steaming on Netflix beginning December 15th, 2023.

It’s the same gang from “Chicken Run,” this time residing in an island paradise after the events from that film. Ginger (voice of Thandiwe Newton) and Rocky (Zachary Levy) welcome daughter Molly (Bella Ramsey), and the girl’s curiosity about her parent’s past leads to her to find a way out of chicken island. After hitching a ride on a transport truck, Molly lands in what seems like chicken paradise … all of the fowl running free and enjoying an amusement park. But it’s all part of a plan … a happy chicken is a tastier chicken, in an experiment run by old nemesis Mrs. Tweedy (Miranda Richardson). Can Ginger and Rocky save their daughter in time?
