CHICAGO – Maddie Ziegler is a shooting star right now, included in Time Magazine’s “30 Most Influential Teens” in both 2015 and 2016. The dancer, model and actress first gained attention as a child on “Dance Moms” in 2011, and has ascended since then to social media and online fame, including her featured roles in five music videos by the pop artist Sia. She was in Naperville (Ill.) – in an appearance sponsored by Anderson’s Book Shop – to promote her book “The Maddie Diaries: A Memoir,’ which has become a New York Times Bestseller. And if that wasn’t enough, she will make her film debut this summer opposite Naomi Watts in “The Book of Henry.”
CHICAGO – Singer Bobby Brown has been all over the news of late, mostly because of the new memoir he’s authored (with Nick Chiles) called “Every Little Step.” He aims to set the record straight on his tumultuous career, especially regarding his marriage with the late Whitney Houston, which culminated when they split in 2007.
CHICAGO – Jewel Kilcher has a long resume of accomplishments in her 20 year career as a singer/songwriter, producer, actress and poet/author. She has just released a new memoir entitled “Never Broken: Songs Are Only Half the Story,” right next to her new album, “Picking Up the Pieces.” She appeared on behalf of the book at North Central College in Naperville, Ill., presented by Anderson’s Book Shop.
CHICAGO – Melissa Gilbert has grown up a bit since portraying Laura Ingalls on the 1970s TV classic “Little House on the Prairie,” but her roots aren’t far behind. She’s just released “My Prairie Cookbook: Memories and Frontier Food from My Little House to Yours,” and appeared last month at North Central College in Naperville, Ill. – at an event sponsored by Anderson’s Bookshop – to greet admirers and sign her new menu planner.
