Rating: 3.5/5.0

The film is a fictional account of a meeting between four real men, which in reality did take place on February 25, 1964. Cassius Clay AKA Muhammad Ali (Eli Goree), Malcolm X (Kingsley Ben-Adir), Pro Footballer Jim Brown (Aldis Hodge) and singer Sam Cooke (Leslie Odom Jr) met on the night when the 22-year-old Ali beat Sonny Liston. This period is recreated faithfully by first time director Regina King, including the Clay/Liston fight, and the meeting has all four men at crossroads in their lives.

“One Night in Miami” is in theaters now, and will stream on Amazon Prime Video on January 15th, 2021. Featuring Eli Goree, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Aldis Hodge and Leslie Odom Jr. Screenplay adapted by Kemp Powers, from his stage play. Directed by Regina King. Rated “R”
