CHICAGO – The City of Chicago has its campaigns for Mayor heating up, and one of the frontrunners is Amara Enyia, who recently made news by getting endorsements from both Chance the Rapper and Kanye West. Amara Enyia’s goal as a candidate is to help communities in Chicago, especially the ones most challenged, as they work together to unlock the civic imagination it takes to create solutions. She has degrees in journalism and political science, earned a Masters in education, a law degree and a PhD in Education Policy. Amara has always sought to translate complex public policy to a form that is easily understood, and she consults with education organizations and community groups advocating on issues of school equity in Chicago, as a focus in her campaign platform. She lives on the West Side of Chicago.

Chancelor Jonathan Bennett, better known as Chance the Rapper, has had a meteoric rise from a Chicago high school in 2011 to become one of music’s brightest stars. And besides the fame, he has made it his mission to help others, both with his time, donations and charitable events. He endorsed Amara Enyia for on October 16th, 2018, and has been working on her behalf ever since, even appearing with Kanye West (another Enyia endorser) on October 23rd.
