Why Chicago is Perfect to Blow Up

Chicago looks perfect to blow up, because it is so visually dynamic. There is such diversity in it’s landscape in a very small area. Downtown alone has a winding river, a long broadway of beautiful parks, an untainted view of the lake, the shoreline, and a pier.

Why Chicago?

Besides the beautiful architecture and the other things that people have mentioned, it’s my hometown. And it makes movies that much more awesome when they are blowing up buildings that I’ve been to!

Chicago Transformers Blow Up

The First Mayor Daley, and most mayors since, have been very protective of and sensitive to the Roaring Twenties Gangster Mentality associated with the city by the earlier media. Filming here was mostly unwelcome, but it was soon seen as a good income source that could also help tourism. Interesting Buildings Destroyed = Interesting Imagery when done right.
