CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Scott Thompson on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on February 18th, 2021, reviewing the new film “Mauritanian,” in theaters now and available through Video-On-Demand on March 2nd.

“The Mauratanian” title refers to a native of the African country called the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, and a country ao named would most likely come into focus for the U.S. after 9/11. It features Tahar Ramim as Mohamendou Ode Salahni, a person of interest somewhat connected to a 9/11 hijacker. He was arrested and taken to the U.S. Guantanamo prison and held for too many years without any charges named. Two U.S. attorneys, portrayed by Jodie Foster and Shailene Woodley, took up his cause until his release, and the military prosecutor (Benedict Cumberbatch) is also represented.
