CHICAGO – All good summer movies come with video game tie-ins and Activision sent over a new vignette from their summer offering, “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs,” which will ship to retail stores in June for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2, DS, and PC.

CHICAGO – Midway’s “Wheelman” is my guilty pleasure game of the season. I know the game has some serious design flaws, but like an action movie you watch over and over again, the flaws are easier to forgive in the name of old-fashioned fun.

CHICAGO – Activision recently released a teaser trailer for their movie tie-in, “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” video game.

CHICAGO – Some games are easy to pick up and put down when you’ve got a small window of time. “The Godfather II” is not one of those games. Like being willing to watch Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Godfather Trilogy” in one sitting, the game loosely based on the second film will take not just minutes or hours but days of your life.

CHICAGO – “Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard” has so many deep, unacceptable, gameplay flaws that it couldn’t possibly merit a traditional recommendation, but the game nearly succeeds in the same way that an Ed Wood or Uwe Boll movie has fans. Have you heard the phrase “so bad it’s good”? Can it be applied to a video game?

CHICAGO – Get your calendars out and mark the date for arguably the most anticipated game of the year, “Modern Warfare 2,” Activision’s follow-up to the award-winning “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare”.

CHICAGO – What if you could play one of your favorite games for two more hours? And what if it was a game that ended on a cliffhanger? That’s what you get with “Prince of Persia: Epilogue,” a two-hour add-on for Ubisoft’s excellent “Prince of Persia” that is now available for download for $9.99.

CHICAGO – If Alan Moore still paid attention to the products based on his creations, the downloadable game “Watchmen: The End is Nigh” might make him give up once and for all. His book that so masterfully deconstructed the superhero genre has been turned into an old-fashioned brawler, in which the player is supposed to get thrills from beating up an endless stream of bad guys. “Watchmen” truly has become like any other superhero franchise, complete with a lame video game to accompany it.

CHICAGO – We are undeniably in a gaming era in which the first-person shooter is king, but players of a certain age can remember a time when fighting games ruled the day. “Street Fighter IV” has the potential to reverse the FPS trend.

CHICAGO – Activision sent over the news today about two new titles that are sure to get music game fans excited - “Guitar Hero Greatest Hits” and “Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits”. The two new titles in the “Guitar Hero” family will debut in June and we have screenshots and details on these newly announced games below.
