CHICAGONBC announced their mid-season schedule today and fans of one of the best comedies on television will notice that “Community” is not on it. Now, don’t panic yet.

TV News: Full Seasons Ordered For ‘Once Upon a Time,’ ‘Happy Endings,’ ‘Last Man Standing’

Once Upon a Time Cast

CHICAGOABC made some TV viewers very happy this week when they announced that two of their new shows and one of their almost-new shows would be on until at least May 2012 with full-season orders for “Once Upon a Time,” “Last Man Standing,” and “Happy Endings.” This brings the total of new programs given a full-season order to a remarkable 13. While few of the programs are what could be called breakout hits, there’s no denying that this freshman class has been pretty strong.

TV News: ‘Person of Interest,’ ‘Unforgettable’ Given Full Season Orders

Person of Interest

CHICAGO – As expected, CBS has given back-episode orders to new dramas “Unforgettable” and “Person of Interest,” meaning they’ll be on until at least May 2012. As for whether or not they’ll get second seasons, let the bubble watch begin. Both shows have done well in overall viewers but not as respectably in the key youth demos.

TV News: ABC Cancels ‘Charlie’s Angels’

Charlie's Angels Season 1 Premiere

CHICAGO – Well, that didn’t take long. Joining “The Playboy Club,” “Free Agents,” and “How to Be a Gentleman” in the hallowed halls of cancellation is ABC’s “Charlie’s Angels,” a show that never found an audience and watched the few who did sample it turn away in the week’s after its premiere. ABC followed their full-season orders for “Revenge” and “Suburgatory” yesterday with the announcement of the cancellation of “Charlie’s Angels” today.

TV News: ABC Orders Full Seasons of ‘Revenge,’ ‘Suburgatory’

Revenge TV Review

CHICAGO – Does ABC actually have a pair of new hits on their hands? Unable to find a freshman success last year with disasters like “The Whole Truth” and “My Generation,” the network has a much happier story to tell this year as a a few of their programs have not exactly set the TV world on fire but delivered solid numbers. Two such programs are on Wednesday nights as the net gave full-season orders to sitcom “Suburgatory” and guilty pleasure “Revenge” after this week’s ratings.

TV News: CW Orders Full Seasons of ‘Hart of Dixie,’ ‘Ringer,’ ‘The Secret Circle’

Ringer

CHICAGO – None are doing well by traditional ratings scales but The CW doesn’t have the same expectations as other networks and so they not-too-surprisingly gave full-season orders to new shows “Hart of Dixie,” “Ringer,” and “The Secret Circle” this week, ending speculation that one might be canceled. Given the low ratings for all of them, especially “Secret,” one can safely assume that they had nothing interesting waiting in the wings to replace them.

TV News: ‘Boardwalk Empire’ Renewed For Third Season

Boardwalk Empire on HBO with Steve Buscemi

CHICAGO – Only two episodes into the second season of the HBO series “Boardwalk Empire” and the network has seen enough to order up a third season of the show. After critical appeal from the first season and even more praise from the second season debut, HBO is ready to get behind the 1920s series for what could be a long ride.

TV News: New Series ‘New Girl,’ ‘Unforgettable’ Open With Strong Ratings

New Girl

CHICAGO – Demographic numbers aren’t in yet and there certainly isn’t a story as huge as Monday night’s ludicrous ratings for “Two and a Half Men,” but we thought you might want to know that FOX’s “New Girl” and CBS’s “Unforgettable” seem to be off to good starts. “Glee” was down in its season premiere while “Ringer” dropped in its second week.

TV News: ‘Sex and the City’ Possibly Returning to Television

Sex and the City 2

CHICAGO – Fans that were excited for the possibility of a third “Sex and the City” film may be disappointed at the news the movie will be put on hold. However, the fix to see Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda could still be filled.
