The Bachelorette

TV Review: Charming Desiree Hartsock Becomes ‘The Bachelorette’

CHICAGO – I always say that reality TV is dependent on casting above all else and this is no more truthful than in the “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” franchises. Sure, the producers can do a lot in crafting narratives for their “stars” but if the lead isn’t someone we root for and his or her suitors aren’t equally entertaining, we’ll check out.

TV Review: Emily Maynard Tries to Bring Personality to ‘The Bachelorette’

CHICAGO – “I may have had a head injury, but there’s nothing wrong with my heart.” If you find that line too cheesy to be realistic, you probably won’t be interested in tonight’s premiere of the eighth season of “The Bachelorette.”

TV News: ABC Announces Summer Schedule with Three New Shows, Return of ‘Rookie Blue’

Duets

CHICAGOABC just announced the premiere dates for their summer series, including three new shows — “Duets,” “Final Witness,” and “Trust Us with Your Life” — along with the return of summer hits — “Secret Millionaire,” “Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition,” “Wipeout,” “The Bachelorette,” “Bachelor Pad,” and a show that we often get calls about on WGN, “Rookie Blue.”

TV Review: Dating Show Celebrities Join Forces in ‘Bachelor Pad’

CHICAGO – I’m critically torn regarding the ridiculousness that is ABC’s “Bachelor Pad,” the “Celebrity Rehab” of dating shows. Getting together the most obnoxious and ludicrous contestants from the last few seasons of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” has a certain brilliance to it on a production level, but it’s also hard to fully defend the silliest thing on network TV right now.

TV Review: ABC’s ‘The Bachelorette’ Returns With More of the Same

CHICAGO – You must have some respect, at least from a business perspective, for ABC’s pop phenomenon of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” which returns tonight on ABC for another round of rose ceremonies, broken hearts, group dates, tabloid headlines, and strong ratings.

Video Game Rating: 2.5/5.0

CHICAGO – When we first heard about a Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS video game tie-in to the mega-franchise of ABC reality shows known as “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” the mind reeled at the possibilities. Would the game be merely a series of conversation choices like some of the cheesy dating video games of the ’90s? How would the Wii-mote get involved?
