Terra Nova

CHICAGO – I really wish “Terra Nova” had worked. I not only wanted to like it more myself but it’s the kind of unique program that I wanted audiences to hook on to so its creators could iron out the problems and deliver true sci-fi greatness on network TV. Sadly, it wasn’t meant to be, and “Terra Nova: The Complete Series” merely serves as a bittersweet reminder of what could have been.

CHICAGO – FOX continues to struggle to produce a new dramatic hit, announcing this week that the highly-promoted “Terra Nova” would not return for another season of dinosaur action. The cancellation combined with Monday night’s truly dismal ratings for “Alcatraz” has given some hope to “Fringe” fans. They can’t cancel everything, can they?

CHICAGO – FOX has confirmed what everyone expected; the animated series “Allen Gregory” starring the voice of Jonah Hill is officially cancelled. The news came today at the FOX Television Critics Association meeting and press tour event in Pasadena.

CHICAGO – Brian Tallerico appears on Bill Moller’s program on three Saturdays in December 2011 to take listener calls on the best television programs of the year, including “Boss,” “American Horror Story,” “Falling Skies, “Sons of Anarchy,” “Parenthood,” “Justified,” “Southland,” “Prime Suspect,” “The Middle,” “New Girl,” “Community,” and much more!

CHICAGO – It feels like only yesterday that we were naming the most promising shows of 2011 (and would like to point out that our #1 was the first program given a full-season order for just one second).

CHICAGO – The new FOX prehistoric series “Terra Nova” was a bit of a disappointment in its premiere episode Monday night, posting a 3.1 rating in the highly coveted 18-49 age group. The show premiered for two hours from 7-9 p.m. CST.

CHICAGO – Highly anticipated and produced in part by Steven Spielberg, “Terra Nova” gets a choppy start, but has enough fascinating elements and is promising enough to earn future viewing. The two hour premiere is Monday, September 26th on FOX.

CHICAGO – FOX made their Fall schedule official this morning, putting to rest any lingering hope for fans of “The Chicago Code” (or the other four canceled bubble programs) and detailing what will air when.

CHICAGO – A week from today - May 16, 2011 - the TV networks will begin the annual unveiling of their fall schedules, and a very-hazy picture will be much clearer by the end of next week. There will be a few miracles, but some hearts will surely be broken. With more programs on the bubble than ever before, what will be renewed and what will be shown the door?
