Slideshow: Women Celebs at Fan Expo Chicago 2024 Thru the Lens and POV of Photog Joe Arce
Submitted by PatrickMcD on September 6, 2024 - 11:01amCHICAGO – I was doing Portrait photography on the last day of the Chicago Fan Expo (August 18th, 2024), and even in these highly political partisan times – where one person’s hero is another’s villain – each of those five woman photographed and featured should be recognized for never being afraid to speak out and fight for their causes. I couldn’t think of a better way to commemorate the exact 104th anniversary of the passage of the right-to-vote 19th Amendment during Fan Expo Chicago.

Film Review: Formula Takes Another Lap in ‘Fast & Furious 6’
Submitted by BrianTT on May 23, 2013 - 11:57amCHICAGO – “How did you know the car would be there to break my fall?” Everything you need to know about the current tone of the “Fast & Furious” franchise exists in that line. Not only are these people superhero enough to leap through the air from one vehicle to another but this is a world in which automobiles are designed to BREAK falls. It’s ridiculous, insane escapist entertainment, and while the bloated running time and less-exciting setting makes “Fast & Furious 6” a slight step down from the more well-paced “Fast Five,” it’s still a damn fun ride that’s sure to please the audience out to see a sixth installment of vehicular man-sanity.
Blu-ray Review: Steven Soderbergh’s Fun, Energetic ‘Haywire’ Gets Average Release
Submitted by BrianTT on May 2, 2012 - 11:37amCHICAGO – Audiences really didn’t take to “Haywire” like critics as the film bombed at the box office, grossing only $19 million domestically and just over $30 million worldwide. It’s the kind of flick that I think polarized its two potential audiences. Action movie fans didn’t think it had enough action. Steven Soderbergh fans thought it had too much. Personally, I think everything Soderbergh does is interesting and this is no exception. Which makes the lackluster HD release disappointing.
Film Review: Gina Carano, Ewan McGregor in Steven Soderbergh’s Action-Packed ‘Haywire’
Submitted by BrianTT on January 19, 2012 - 2:49pmCHICAGO – Steven Soderbergh is one of the few directors who can do whatever the hell he wants. Whatever genre, whomever he casts, whichever story he chooses to tell – he pulls it off.
