CHICAGO – It was 38 years ago that the seminal horror film “Halloween” was released, and its impact made a star out of the heroine in the film, Jamie Lee Curtis. Curtis was in the Chicago area in September to promote her new children’s book, “This is Me: The Story of Who and Where We Came From,” (illustrated by Laura Cornell).

CHICAGO – Last night (Thursday, May 5th), the 2016 CineYouth Film Festival – which is associated with the Chicago International Film Festival and Cinema/Chicago – kicked off with “Nocturna,” a European animated film from the famed GKIDS distributor (“A Cat in Paris”). CHICAGO – Teenage heartthrob and former fashion model Chad Michael Murray is expanding his repertoire, as the author of a new graphic novel called “Everlast.” Best known for his role as Lucas Scott in “One Tree Hill,” Murray was in the Chicago area recently signing his novel and greeting admirers.
