CHICAGO – ABC continues to try to use Emmy-winning comedy juggernaut “Modern Family” to create a hit as a lead-in or a lead-out: “The Neighbors,” “Suburgatory,” “Happy Endings,” “How to Live with Your Parents,” and, starting tonight, “Family Tools,” a show with a strong enough comedy pedigree to produce a few laughs but writing that isn’t quite strong enough to warrant comparison with the best of the ABC comedy wannabes.

CHICAGO – Who cares? Rarely has a movie been so weighed down with horrendous, expository dialogue that has no weight whatsoever as in the widely-loathed “Atlas Shrugged, Part I.” After the notoriously-reviled theatrical release ($4.6 million total domestic box office on a 12% on Rotten Tomatoes) killed the chance at a trilogy (on top of the hysterical Blu-ray labeling error), I kind of hoped the film would either surprise me with its quality or be so awful that it approached “The Room” or “Troll 2” levels of enjoyment. Nope. It’s just boring, boring, boring — the kind of film only worthwhile if you’re having trouble sleeping.

CHICAGO – The amazing adoration for “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” is based on one of two things: a crush on one of the cast members or goodwill spawned by a love of Stephenie Meyer’s books.

CHICAGO – “Twilight” fans will get the chance to meet the cast when they go on a 15-city tour this November. The tour kicks off in Los Angeles, CA at the Hollywood & Highland Center on November 6, where fans will be treated to a performance by several bands featured on the “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” soundtrack.

CHICAGO – MTV.com reported today that during the 2009 Video Music Awards that “Twilight” stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will appear on the show to debut an exclusive trailer for “New Moon” with fresh new footage.

CHICAGO – MTV has confirmed that the first single from the “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” soundtrack will be Death Cab For Cutie’s “Meet Me on the Equinox.” The song will debut exclusively on MTV’s website on the day of the MTV Video Music Awards, September 13th, 2009.
