Yellowstone Ranch Owner and Patriarch John Dutton the Third (Kevin Costner) has won the Montana governor’s chair with a plain speaking “saving Montana for Montanans” campaign, and is sworn in at the state capitol as the problems of his land and ranch continue to mount. His younger son Kayce (Luke Grimes) and his Native American wife Monica (Kelsey Asbille) are about to welcome their second child. Meanwhile Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) is wondering what her next chapter will be, after helping her father become governor, while her husband Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) continues his concern as Yellowstone ranch foreman, knowing the challenges of Native American rights, developers and interlopers always pushing against the cowboy traditions he holds dear.
