Film News: ‘Alternative Takes’ at First Tuesdays for Midwest Film Festival, May 3, 2022

CHICAGO – The outsider point of view will highlight the Midwest Film Festival at their First Tuesday “Alternative Takes,” beginning at 7pm on May 3rd at the Gene Siskel Film Center. Nine short films with with distinct atmospheres and unique points of view will screen, featuring a range of dark humor, heartfelt expressions and a mix of experiences for the senses. The line-up features “Devour” by Kate Raney, “Griffica” by C.J. Arellano, “Woolgathering” by Emma Bright and Bethany Clemens, “Hasta Siempre” by Ben Senior, “Yellow Polka Dot” by Tin Nguyen, “Microwave Spider” by Derek Bauer, “Fish Eye” by Colin Parker, “Comfort in Hydrology” by Steve Rowell and “spotted” by Brandil Champagne. The pre-show “social hour” begins at 7pm, followed by the screenings, and an after party at the Emerald Loop Bar & Grill.

The Midwest Film Festival (formerly the Midwest Independent Film Festival) has been a staple in Chicago’s film community for 15 years. Through Executive Director Erica Duffy. the Festival thrives by bringing together the Chicago film community on every First Tuesday of the month in this ongoing cinema celebration.
