Rating: 5.0/5.0

Cassie (Carey Mulligan) is a somewhat imbalanced woman who gets her kicks pretending to be blind drunk at bars to experience how men will react to her … they inevitably try to put moves on her, she rebuffs them and records it all in a diary. She’s doing this because her best friend in medical school was raped and she seems to be on a one woman crusade for vengeance. She’s asked on a date by Ryan (Bo Burnham), an ex-classmate from the same med school, and she actually starts to like him. But her revenge plan isn’t over, and the culmination of these events are yet to come.

“Promising Young Woman” is in theaters now. Featuring Carey Mulligan, Bo Burnham, Alison Brie, Jennifer Coolidge and Molly Shannon. Written and directed by Emerald Fennell. Rated “R”
