Film News: Female Filmmakers Night at Midwest Independent Film Festival, Oct. 1, 2019

CHICAGO – It’s the popular Female Filmmakers Night for the First Tuesday Midwest Independent Film Festival, falling on the first day of October, 2019. Nine films will screen at the Landmark Century Centre Cinema, with the event beginning at 6pm. For the short film line-up, more information and to purchase tickets, click here.

Highlights of the evening include a Producers Panel, where women filmmakers will discuss the landscape, representation and career navigation in the industry. The short films include multi-award winning animator Meghann Artes (“Oh Baby”), the effects of PTSD in a mini-documentary by Ashley Brandon (“On the Bit”) and “The Follower” by Patricia Frontain, which features John Seda of “Chicago P.D.” and Kara Kilmer of “Chicago Fire.”

The Midwest Independent Film Festival is a year-round movie event in Chicago that takes place the first Tuesday of every month, at the Landmark Century Centre Cinema. The festival has been recognized by Chicago Magazine in their “Best of Chicago” issue, and has become one of the top places for local filmmakers, producers and actors to network in the city.
