CHICAGO – April 28th marks the birthday of actress Jessica Alba, and what better way to celebrate than publishing, for the first time, an Exclusive Portrait by photographer Joe Arce of HollywoodChicago.com, taken in 2013 at Anderson’s Book Shop in Naperville, Ill. Alba was representing her book, “The Honest Life” when Arce snapped this photograph of the actress and entrepreneur.

Alba began as a child actress at 13 years old, debuting in the film “Camp Nowhere” in 1994. She worked the same year on the Nickelodeon series “The Secret World of Allan Mack,” but her breakthrough came seven years later when she won the title role on the TV series “Dark Angel.” The show got her noticed, and launched a film career that included major roles in “Sin City” (2005), “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” (2007), “Little Fockers” (2010), “Machete Kills” (2013) and “Mechanic: Resurrection” (2016). Alba is also an entrepreneur… her line of toxin-free products through “The Honest Company” (household goods, diapers and body care products) is extremely successful, and her book “The Honest Life” chronicled her development of the company.

Photographer Joe Arce of HollywoodChicago.com was at Anderson’s Book Shop in 2013 – where Jessica Alba greeted admirers and signed books – when he took this Exclusive Portrait.

“The Honest Life,” by Jessica Alba, is available at Anderson’s Book Shop and wherever books are sold.
