Asked about the new season, Asian Pop-Up Cinema Founder Sophia Wong Bocchio told HollywoodChicago.com, “It is our pleasure to present our fourth season of diverse, contemporary Asian films in Chicago. Our mixed-genre film festival includes 18 works – with many premieres and gems never shown before on the big screen in the United States. To include a broader audience, ten films this season will be free and open to the public.”

Season Four of the Asian Pop-Up Cinema series kicks off with the U.S. premiere of “Survival Family” on Wednesday, March 1st, 2017, at 7pm. The film is directed by Shinobu Yaguchi. The director will make a special appearance, moderated by Mark Schilling of the Japan Times. For more general information on the Asian Pop-Up Cinema series click here.
