Exclusive Portrait: Cameron Diaz Promotes New Book in Chicagoland
CHICAGO – Cameron Diaz is on a noble mission in 2014. Her crusade is about women’s body issues, to encourage girls – in addition to female teens and adults – to pay mind to body image and power. Her new book is “The Body Book: The Law of Hunger, The Science of Strength, and Other Ways to Love Your Amazing Body,” and she appeared to promote it at Wentz Concert Hall (North Central College) in Naperville, Ill., hosted by Anderson’s Bookshop.
Diaz is backing up the book tour by doing talks regarding its themes, including speaking at Neuqua Valley High in Naperville, before her Wentz Hall appearance. Her book is about keeping it real when it comes to food and lifestyle. As she writes in the introduction, “…It’s not a diet book, It is not a workout regimen. It’s not a manual to becoming a different person” – it’s a more common sense approach for food, nutrition and other care tips for the body.
She was born in San Diego, and began her career as a model at the age of 16. She auditioned for the JIm Carrey film “The Mask” five years later. She won that supporting role, which led to a movie star career of hits like “My Best Friend’s Wedding” (1997), “There’s Something About Mary” (1998), “Gangs of New York” (2002), voice work in the “Shrek” series and “Knight and Day” (2010). Cameron Diaz has three new films scheduled for 2014, including a remake of the musical “Annie.”
