Film News: 2016 CineYouth Festival Kicks Off, Runs Through May 7, 2016

CHICAGO – Last night (Thursday, May 5th), the 2016 CineYouth Film Festival – which is associated with the Chicago International Film Festival and Cinema/Chicago – kicked off with “Nocturna,” a European animated film from the famed GKIDS distributor (“A Cat in Paris”). Film News: 7 Films Announced For 2016 Chicago Critics Film Festival

CHICAGO – The Chicago Film Critics Association (CCFA) has announced the first wave of films that will be presented at the 4th Annual Chicago Critics Film Festival (CCFF). The fest dates are May 20th to the 26th, 2016, will it will take place at the historic Music Box Theatre in Chicago.

CHICAGO – “The Revenant,” director Alejandro Iñárritu’s epic drama, got 12 nominations – including Best Picture – as all the categories for the 88th Academy Awards were announced on January 14th, 2016. Rounding out the Best Picture class is “The Big Short,” “Bridge of Spies,” “Brooklyn,” “Mad Max: Fury Road,” “The Martian,” “Room” and “Spotlight.”
