CHICAGO – The McHenry Outdoor Theater, one of the last remaining drive-in movie venues in America, will be holding a fundraiser on Friday, Oct. 5 and 6, 2012. The event will help raise money to purchase a new digital projector, which the historic venue needs to stay in business. The theater is located at 1510 Chapel Hill Road in McHenry, Ill.

For the fundraiser weekend, the theater will screen a nostalgic double feature of Robert Zemeckis’s 1985 sci-fi comedy, “Back to the Future,” and Steven Spielberg’s 1975 masterpiece, “Jaws.” The double bill will begin at dusk and admission will be a donation of the customer’s choosing. Doors open at 6:30pm. Further support can be pledged on the theater’s Kickstarter page, which is aiming to raise $130,000 by Wednesday, November 28th.
