CHICAGO – It began with a boy and his dream (nightmare?). John LaFlamboy, to be exact, as he took an idea he had in college and made it his life’s work. He owns and operates the HellsGate Haunted House in Lockport (Illinois), which was designed, built and put together by Haunted House experts expressly for the spookiest month of the year. CHICAGO – The British wit John Oliver has stormed the shores of the former colonies with his dry antics, as featured correspondent on “The Daily Show” and his recurring role on “Community.” His stand-up was featured at the TBS “Just for Laughs Chicago” comedy festival, playing before a packed house at The Vic Theater.
Oliver was born in Birmingham, United Kingdom, and came to America via his stand-up that began at the famous Edinburgh Festival in 2001. He began his stint on “The Daily Show” in 2006, and won an Emmy for his work there in 2009. He also plays Dr. Ian Duncan on “Community,” and was featured prominently in the pilot of that show.
