CHICAGO – Cinema/Chicago and the Chicago International Film Festival will be honoring television icon Kelsey Grammer at their 48th Hugo Television Awards, in Chicago on April 19th. Grammer portrayed Dr. Frasier Crane on the sitcom “Cheers” and the spin-off “Frasier” for 20 years, tying a record for playing the same TV character continuously.

Grammer is currently shooting the second season of his well-received new dramatic series for the Starz Network, “Boss.” He portrays Tom Kane, the mayor of Chicago, who is hiding a neurological condition from his staff as he attempts to maintain power. The critically acclaimed series scored a Golden Globe for Grammer at the 2012 ceremony. Grammer had previously won two Globes for Frasier, as well as five Emmy Awards for “Frasier” and his voice work as Sideshow Bob on “The Simpsons.”
