CHICAGO – Fans of the hilarious animated spy show “Archer” will be happy to know that laughs won’t stop at the end of season three. FX has officially signed the show for a fourth season, as well as an overall productin deal with show creators Adam Reed and Matt Thompson and their production studio, Floyd County Productions.

The decision to renew “Archer” was likely made a lot easier for FX with the growing numbers the show has seen. Compared to its season two averages, first runs of season three episodes have shown increases of 62% in adults 18-34, 44% in the coveted 18-49 demo, and 32% in total viewers, which is averaging 3.31 million viewers a week.

Nick Grad, Executive Vice President of Original Programming at FX, explained the easy decision for FX. “It was an easy decision to order more Archer,” said Grad. “Adam, Matt, and our amazing voice cast are delivering one of the funniest and smartest shows on television. It has deservedly grown beyond its initial cult following to become both a critical and ratings success. It is a true asset to the FX comedy roster.”

The “amazing voice cast” Grad referred to includes H. Jon Benjamin, Jessica Walter, Chris Parnell, Judy Greer, and Aisha Tyler, among many others.

Show creator Matt Thompson added his excitement for the deal: “I am over the moon excited about the trust and faith FX has placed in Floyd County Productions with this deal. We have over 100 extremely talented artists that amaze me every day with their talent and work ethic. We hope to build on this, growing into a giant animating monster that will eventually take over the world.

Season three of “Archer” still has four episodes remaining, with the season finale premiering on Thursday March 22.
