Worst Babysitting Experience

When I was in college I was babysitting my four nieces who ranged in age from eighteen months to eight. The eighteen month old was in her crib recovering literally from open heart surgery.

I was pretending to be asleep and the older girls decided to tie my shoelaces together. I figured I’d let them do it since it appeared to be harmless fun.

So after much struggle, they finally managed to get the laces of each shoe tied together and I pretended to wake up. At just that moment, I heard a tremendous crash upstairs followed by horrible wailing and crying. The toddler (Megan) who had been too weak from a heart problem had for the first time gained enough strength to hurl herself out of her crib.

I leaped up to run and assist her, forgetting my shoelaces and crashed face first to the floor, breaking my glasses and nearly breaking my nose. I desperately tried to untie the laces but they were hopelessly knotted and my shoes were hightop sneakers and wouldn’t come off without cutting or untying the laces.

Finally, I bunny hopped desperately up the stairs expecting to find Megan with her stitches torn out, bleeding profusely on the floor (she was alarmingly silent now). Instead, she was peacefully digging through her drawers looking for the bunny she normally kept with her in her crib.

After that, we knew for sure that her hearth surgery was a success. She’s now in her twenties and very healthy.

Worse experience babysitting

Without a doubt, being so afraid to tell anyone I had to go to the bathroom that I did it in my pants in the backseat.

Worst Babysitting Experience

I was babysitting my brother and he fell on a rock. He needed over 20 stitches and a cast. It ruined his summer.

Babysitting experience

My worst babysitting experience(s) was not when I babysat. I don’t mind it. The worst for me was when my sister would look after me when I was young. She’d give me a whooping for reasons I don’t recall and I would pass my time standing up on part of a vacuum to be able to look out the window and wait for my mom’s car to pull up out front. Glad I don’t need a sitter anymore.
