CHICAGO – Fans of the hit book series and much anticipated film series “The Hunger Games” were treated to a full look inside the world of Panem this morning when Lionsgate debuted a full trailer for the new film. After a short teaser trailer premiered this past summer showing the main character, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), running through a forest during battle, the new trailer gives a full look at the modern/futuristic world.

Based on the hit book series by Suzanne Collins, “The Hunger Games” is set in a world where the citizens are split into 12 districts that are governed by the head district known as The Capitol. Every year, The Capital randomly selects one female and one male child from the ages of 12-18 to participate as a tribute in the Hunger Games, a brutal competition where contestants fight to the death until one tribute remains. The story follows Katniss and her journey leading up to and during the games.

The first full trailer gives fans much to look forward to. The trailer includes the selection process, images of The Capitol and the battle arena, as well as the first looks at characters like Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Effie (Elizabeth Banks), Caesar (Stanley Tucci), Haymitch (Woody Harrelson), President Snow (Donald Sutherland), and Katniss’ designer Cinna (Lenny Kravitz).

If you haven’t had the chance to see the trailer, or just want to watch it again, check it out right here:
