CHICAGO – A new trailer for the upcoming film “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” has hit the internet today. The new film, which will once again star Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes and Jude Law as Watson, appears to follow the same formula of the first film; combining action and mystery with humor and wit.

The new trailer also features a character absent from the film’s first trailer: Irene Adler, played by Rachel McAdams. Irene, who flips between being on Holmes’ side and against him in the first film, can be seen in the new trailer walking the streets, as well as planting a kiss on our detective protagonist. It appears Irene will once again be playing at the heart of Holmes, while also competing against another leading lady, Sim (played by Noomi Rapace).

The new film is set to release this coming December 16, right in the heart of the holiday movie season. Guy Ritchie is once again directing the film and Michele Mulroney and Kieran Mulroney wrote the screenplay based on the character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
