CHICAGO – “Harry Potter” actor Jamie Waylett, who played Draco Malfoy’s good friend Vincent Crabbe for six of the Potter films, is facing a number of charges for his involvement in this past summer’s London riots; charges that include possession of a homemade bomb.

Perhaps the casting was perfect as Waylett for a Slytherin student, as he has been in trouble with the law more than once now. In 2009, Waylett was charged for growing marijuana and given 120 hours of community service for the crime (a crime that supposedly had to do with him being written out of the final film).

Now, Waylett is being charged for arming himself with a Molotov cocktail on August 8 during the riots in London that led to some 3,000 arrests. For those who don’t know or don’t love zombie games, a Molotov cocktail is a glass bottle that contains flammable liquid that is stuffed with a cloth. When lit and thrown, the bottle breaks causing the flammable liquid to light on fire. The Molotov in Waylett’s possession was assumed to be used in the intent of damaging property.

If that were not enough, police also discovered that Waylett had 15 marijuana plants growing in his bedroom. As a second time offender, punishment will be much more harsh for Waylett in his second criminal charge of growing the illegal plant.

Waylett was released from prison on September 29, under specific orders that he must now live with his mother and abide by a strict 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew. His next court date is scheduled for November 11. All of this goes to show you that messing with the dark arts of drugs and explosives just isn’t worth it.
