Peace of Mind

When I am on the brink of much smaller wars here in Chicago, I focus on doing a lot of listening and letting the other party speak and share their mind. I have found that just letting them express their perspective saves the bloodshed based on a simple solution or just misunderstanding.

How do you create peace when you’re at the brink of war?

You would listen to what each party wants and try to rationalize what can be done and what is too far fetched. You would then get the two sides together to work out their differences as to why they want to go to war in the first place and then take steps to calm them down to create a peaceful resolution.

Creating PEACE is very

Creating PEACE is very difficult… I think you just have to outsmart the bad guys and do your best to create peace by not letting them (the bad guys) get the upper hand. Also, creating an environment of understanding is essential. Communication (real communication) - where people actually listen and don’t hear what they want to hear is the KEY!

Create Peace!!!

You can create peace if you listen!!! If you listen then you learn… If you dont take the time out to listen and find out what disrupted the peace then how can you learn to restore peace.

It all boils down to

It all boils down to listening, accepting (not necessarily fully embracing) other points of view, and compromising. Basically, the three things that didn’t happen during the debt ceiling crisis.

Meet in the middle

I would try and listen to both sides and make a compromise that has little to no negative impact on the innocent people of the countries at war.

peace

When you are at the brink of war there isnt much to do except leave it all up to fate and hope for the best. But before you get to the brink, its all about communication and understanding the other side. You cant get anywhere unless both sides are heard, understood, and dealt with in a reasonable manner.

Negotiate!

If war is imminent and a given party wants to neutralize the situation, it is effective to appeal to the common interest of the enemy. If the gravity of the situation is sufficient it will lure the enemy into backing down. The demands must be weighed against the damage that the given war will bring. That question will lead into a more philosophical debate on the merits of war. Negotiation, however, is a time-tested method for preventing conflict.
