Here is the plot description for “A Better Life”:

From the director of “About a Boy” and the producers of “A Single Man” and “In Good Company” comes “A Better Life”: a touching, poignant, multi-generational story about a father’s love and the lengths a parent will go to build a better life for his child.

Carlos Galindo always dreamed of a better life for his wife and newborn son when he crossed the border into the U.S. But when his wife left him – wanting more than he could give – Carlos’ only goal became to make sure his son Luis was given the opportunities he never had.

After years of hard work and trying to set an example for his son, he still finds himself drifting apart from Luis. Luis is at an impressionable teen age where succumbing to peer pressure could lead him down a dangerous path. Seeing a way to control their own destiny, Carlos takes what little money he has and invests it all into his own gardening business. Luis believes that is their only chance to stay together and finally achieve the better life he always envisioned for his son.

However, after an unexpected turn of events when everything he’s worked for is suddenly taken away, it is Luis – despite years of growing apart – who teams up with Carlos to take it back. Together, father and son embark on a physical and spiritual journey where they discover something more important: that family is the most important part of the American dream. The film will be released in the U.S. via Summit Entertainment. The Chicago release date is July 8, 2011. “A Better Life” is rated “PG-13”.

Parents’ struggles to

Parents’ struggles to secure a better life for their children has undoubtedly become a recurring familial plight in America, though the resolutions are consistently being redefined. While America introduces environments that children inevitably inhabit (i.e. neighborhoods of high crime rates, gang violence, illegal drug usage/trafficking), it is ever more integral that the parent commits to a life-long plan for their children as primary caretakers. Minimally, therefore, the best way that a parent can secure their child a better life is through planning and consistent familiarity amongst each other. Parents must take full responsibility as child bearers until they themselves deem it appropriate to then entrust such responsibility to their children. The familial bond between parent and child must never be broken and must therefore be implanted within a child’s mentality that their relationship with their parents is enduring and limitless. More than likely, this will prevent children from going astray in life (i.e. casted away by the typical vices advertised in contemporary American, and as featured in the film A Better Life). This pattern has been underlined as a motif that has been replicated under multiple households, many of which I have experienced in my own life. Speak with your child until the day of your death, parent. Never exchange your sight of them as your children for a sight that illustrates them as otherwise (i.e. a gang member, drug addict, etc.).

What is the best way for a parent to give a child a better life?

in order to give a child a better life you first have to give them love and through love you will do all things neccessary to provide, teach and assist the child throughout life.

Example and Activity

To work hard and lead by positive example. And keep the child busy in challenging and educational activities most of the time they are awake. If not they try to find things to get into. This usually manifest itselt in some sort of negative form. Don’t ask me why. It just does.
