Here is the plot description for “The Adjustment Bureau”:
Do we control our destiny or do unseen forces manipulate us? Matt Damon stars in the thriller “The Adjustment Bureau” as a man who glimpses the future fate has planned for him and realizes he wants something else. To get it, he must pursue the only woman he’s ever loved across, under and through the streets of modern-day New York.
On the brink of winning a seat in the U.S. Senate, ambitious politician David Norris (Damon) meets beautiful contemporary ballet dancer Elise Sellas (Emily Blunt). She’s a woman like none he’s ever known. But just as he realizes he’s falling for her, mysterious men conspire to keep the two apart.
David learns he is up against the agents of fate itself – the men of The Adjustment Bureau – who will do everything in their considerable power to prevent David and Elise from being together. In the face of overwhelming odds, he must either let her go and accept a predetermined path or risk everything to defy fate and be with her.
“The Adjustment Bureau” is written for the screen and directed by George Nolfi (writer of “Ocean’s Twelve” and co-writer of “The Bourne Ultimatum”). It is based on a short story by Philip K. Dick (“Total Recall,” “Minority Report” and “Blade Runner”).

Do we control our own fate?
To an extent, we do since we are in control of our own lives and make decisions. But then again, there are things that are beyond our control that we can encounter that can change our life in a second that we have no control over.
Always!
We control our fate based on the experiences we have in our lives and the multiple reactions we have to said events.
Do we control our own fate?
Do we control our own fate? Yes, to a great extent. We need to “look outside the box,” refuse to be negative, think positively. Ask questions like: What would it take to make “x” happen? Then, take the steps to make it happen. Somethings are outside our mental and physical abilities, but we can overcome obstacles with persisitance.
Our Fate!?!
I think we do control our own fate. An individual is first and foremost governed by what is best for his or herself. Our fate is dependent upon the decisions that we make in critical times in our lives. Those decisions are unique to every individual and thus determines their own unique fate. Of course, as thinking beings we learn to determine all consequences about our decisions, but still ultimately decide in the way that favors ourselves. So yes, we determines our own fate and we see to it that things happens because we have thought it out…

We have free will ….. but all within God’s master plan.
Do we control our own fate?
No, We do not control our own fate but control our destiny.
Do we control our own fate?
I say yes and no. We choose what path we go in, but we don’t choose what opportunities are put in front of us.
Fate
“The whole thing goes: The future’s not set. There’s no fate but what we make for ourselves.”
Fate
We have some control over our fate in that we make decisions and have to be responsible for our actions, but a lot things are outside our control and/or our decisions are influenced by our environment. Basically, the answer is yes and no depending on the situation.
Of course we do... don't we?
I agree with Sartre
