CHICAGO – Like a bunch of pageant winners preparing themselves for the Miss America contest, the slew of Super Bowl XLV commercials that have paid seven figures to perform on the big day are getting ready.

In case you’re wondering, the cost to put your 30-second spot in front of millions and millions of pundits, gamblers and casual fans who are watching just because they made some random NFL Super Bowl picks was $2.6 million in 2010.

We all know the Super Bowl brings out the best of the best, so who is lining up to put their innovations on display? As usual, we’ll see a long list of hot chicks, Bud Light commercials and some innovative thinkers out of left field.

This year’s crop includes Pepsi (which took a one-year break from Super Bowl advertising), Audi (which will be putting their 2011 A8 on display) and, as usual, Danica Patrick (with her GoDaddy backers).

Pepsi has created a viral circus with their Super Bowl commercial that has already attracted 5,600 fans. Pepsi is running a user-generated contest for Doritos and Pepsi Max called “Crash the Super Bowl”.

Some 5,600 fans have already submitted a potential Super Bowl ad. There are now 10 finalists to choose from and fans worldwide can vote for which ad will win the contest and air at Super Bowl XLV on Feb. 6, 2011. The 10 finalists all receive a free flight to Super Bowl XLV, tickets and $25,000 in cash.

Other Super Bowl spots that are being lively hyped right now is the provocative Kim Kardashian spot for Skechers as well as Faith Hill’s Teleflora ad. GoDaddy, which already employs Patrick and Jillian Michaels, is supposedly revealing a new secret celebrity female promoter.

The only way to find out is to tune in on Feb. 6, 2011 when the big game – likely including the New England Patriots as one of the two contestants – takes place.
