Why are we intrigued by end of the world films?

It is like death! It is the unknown and the unpredictable that we crave. We have no control over it and we want to know as much as possible about it being human beings who are curious.

We are intrigued by the possibilities of the end

We watch these films because we like to look at the different possible scenarios of the apocalypse. Who knows, the end may come with aliens haha.

Are we morbidly fascinated

Are we morbidly fascinated or have we just been so sick of the cultural/political situations of the world right now that we are just ready to “jump”?

End of the world

I think although we don’t exactly want the world to end, it’s a (literally) once in a lifetime event that is beyond expectations or description, and who wouldn’t want to witness that?

Why are we morbidly fascinated by end-of-the-world films?

Personally, because it’s an escape from the horrors of Real Life. (Yeah, if that makes any sense….)

The fact that things don’t

The fact that things don’t look so good for human kind is a reflection of the fact that we are morbid creatures fascinated by end of the world phenomena. Th polar ice caps are melting and the world is becoming over-populated. Mother Nature is trying to tell us something we don’t want to know.

Skyline

We’ve always been fascinated with the idea of our death. Its human. We believe in the importance of knowing our history as much as we believe that we can figure out (and possibly change) our future. The wonderment around the whole idea is fascinating and will only grow as time goes on.
