A Beautiful Mind ...

is my favorite because it demonstrated clearly his brilliance as a film maker and showcased fantastic performances by Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly. Plus, I think it shows the complexity of the human mind in a way that hadn’t been done before.

Favorite ron howard movie`

Ransom is by far my favorite Ron Howard movie. The dialogue and the cast are outstanding. Backdraft is my 2nd favorite, “Who’s your brother Stevie?” “You are Brian”.

Ron Howard

My favorite would be, “A BEAUTIFUL MIND”. We need more movies about prodigies that inspire our children to get a good education and help America continue to be a global leader……….

Apollo 13

Apollo 13 means the most to mean because it was a move my dad and I watched several times and it made me think that if this kid could grow up and be a great director then I could too.

Cocoon

Seeing Cocoon was a magical experience for me. My buddy and I had seen in the paper that there was a gap in the schedule at the McClurg Court Theatre that night so we went down thinking that there was probably a private screening. There was and we managed to get ourselves into it. We didn’t have passes but we managed. We like to sit down front so we were in the second row and the next closest people were a few rows behind us. We still didn’t know what movie we were going to see. Then WGN’s Roy Leonard came out and stood just a few feet in front of us and talked to the audience about how he’d given the passes out to people who’d promised to bring multiple generations of their family to see this film. We felt a little conspiciuous as we were alone down front and obviously about the same age. But boy, for not knowing what movie we were going to see we sure picked a winner! By turns so funny and sad but always magical. Brian Dennehy was at first intimidating and then so warm and kind. We laughed, we cried, we gushed about it for days afterward. Really a wonderful film!

Backdraft

After working with firefighters and police, that is one movie that really got it right. A firefighter’s funeral and service is probably one of the more emotional services you could attend.

Ron Howard

A Beautiful Mind - the recognition of one of the greatest mathematicians of the twentieth-century in popular culture was as gratifying as it was unexpected.

Favorite Ron Howard film

has got to be Willow. It was the first fantasy movie I ever saw and it pretty much made my imagination what it is today. I’m a pretty creative person and I have to give a lot of credit to Mr. Howard.

Apollo 13

I can remember lying on the floor of my best friend’s house dreaming about the love between the characters. However, I can’t leave this comment without mentioning his work on Arrested Development and how amazing that was.
