Here is the plot description for “The Cartel”:
Teachers punished for speaking out. Principals fired for trying to do the right thing. Union leaders defending the indefensible. Bureaucrats blocking new charter schools. These are just some of the people we meet in “The Cartel”. The film also introduces us to teens who can’t read, parents desperate for change and teachers struggling to launch stable and alternative schools for inner-city kids who want to learn.
“The Cartel” shows us our educational system like we’ve never seen it before. Behind every dropout factory lurks a powerful, entrenched and self-serving cartel. The film draws an unequivocal bottom line: If we care about the future of our children, we must insist upon far-reaching and immediate reform. And we must do it now.

If you could do one thing for educational reform in the U.S., wh
I would try to figure out what children need to learn. We need supportive parents this is the main thing. We need teachers that want to teach and not just want a paycheck. We also need to let our children explore themselves with our guidance.
The Cartel
Bulldoze the entire Chicago Board of Ed. It’s nothing more than a huge entrenched bureaucracy that has proved itself incapable of improving the deplorable state of the entire Chicago public school system (or even slowing its downward spiral). I can’t find a reason why we should continue to pay these people a salary. Use the money to train and hire more teachers, buy more books, and repair the crumbling facilities.
education reform
higher teacher salery would attract better teachers
THE CARTEL
I WOULD PROVIDE AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING FOR THOSE THAT NEED IT AT NO CHARGE.
" Education "
If I could do one thing to reform education, it would be to change to a four day school week. Students would have a longer school day, but they would only be in school 4 days a week.
education reform
Teach problem solving in all subjects not just right answers. If students today could actually unplug themselves and think, we wouldn’t keep repeating mistakes of the past.
The Cartel
Invest more in improving low performance schools by putting resources in instead of simply diverting them from higher performing schools.
Teachers
Better teacher prof development
Educational Reform
I would eliminate superfluous and duplicative levels of administration and raise teacher pay.
make college
make college more affordable
