(Los Angeles, CA) April 22, 2008 – Broad General Director Plácido Domingo will take LA Opera into movie theatres throughout the United States for the first time, as Landmark Theatres hosts screenings of The Plácido Domingo 40th Anniversary Gala Concert in 22 theatres throughout the country. The concert celebrates the fortieth anniversary of Mr. Domingo’s first professional appearance in Los Angeles and will feature arias and duets sung by Mr. Domingo and the internationally acclaimed soprano Patricia Racette. The concert will be led by LA Opera Music Director James Conlon, conducting the LA Opera Orchestra, and will be screened at 2:00pm on May 11, 2008, at Landmark Theatres in cities including Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, San Diego, Chicago, Seattle, Houston, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, St. Louis and Baltimore.
