CHICAGO – A new TV spot has aired for the highly anticipated “Twilight” sequel “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”. The TV spot is called “New Legend” and has this sell line: “When forever ends, a new legend begins.”

“The Twilight Saga: New Moon” stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Dakota Fanning, Michael Sheen, Ashley Greene, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed and Bronson Pelletier from director Chris Weitz. “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” is slated to hit theaters on Nov. 20, 2009. In the second installment of Stephenie Meyers phenomenally successful “Twilight” series, the romance between mortal and vampire soars to a new level as Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) delves deeper into the mysteries of the supernatural world she yearns to become part of only to find herself in greater peril than ever before.

Following Bella’s ill-fated 18th birthday party, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and his family abandon the town of Forks, Wash. in an effort to protect her from the dangers inherent in their world. As the heartbroken Bella sleepwalks through her senior year of high school – numb and alone – she discovers that Edward’s image comes to her whenever she puts herself in jeopardy. Her desire to be with him at any cost leads her to take greater and greater risks.

With the help of her childhood friend, Jacon Black (Taylor Lautner), Bella refurbishes an old motorbike to carry her on her adventures. Three New Character Posters Revealed For ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’

CHICAGO – Three new character posters have just been released for the highly anticipated “Twilight” sequel “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”.

The film stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Dakota Fanning, Michael Sheen, Ashley Greene, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed and Bronson Pelletier from director Chris Weitz. “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” is slated to hit theaters on Nov. 20, 2009.

Each of the three new posters focuses on a major clan - the Cullen family, the Volturi coven and the Wolf Pack – that all play an important role in the film.

The poster with the Cullens has Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) front and center. The poster with the Volturis has Jane (Dakota Fanning) with Aro (Michael Sheen) behind her. The poster with the Wolf Pack features Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) in the front.

Sequel to Beloved ‘Tron,’ ‘Tron Legacy’ to Hit Theaters in Dec. 2010

CHICAGO – The highly anticipated movie “Tron Legacy” will hit theaters on December 17, 2010, according to Dark Horizons.

The follow up to the ’80s sci-fi classic “Tron” stars Garrett Hedlund as Sam Flynn, the 27-year-old tech-savvy son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) who decides to look into his father’s disappearance. Sam ends up finding himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 2 years.

Kevin’s loyal confidant (Olivia Wilde) joins the father and son on a life-and-death journey that takes them across a visually stunning cyber universe that becomes far more dangerous.

The movie also stars Bruce Boxleitner, James Frain, Beau Garrett and Michael Sheen also star.

Opening the same day are “The Green Hornet” and “The Smurfs” opening the same date, though according to Dark Horizons, “The Smurfs” is expected to move to a 2011 release date.

We have learned that some showings of “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” will preview the new trailer for the “Twilight” sequel “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” which stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Dakota Fanning and Michael Sheen.

Blu-Ray Review: Frank Langella, Michael Sheen in Ron Howard’s ‘Frost/Nixon’

CHICAGO – I want to love “Frost/Nixon”. I’m generally forgiving of historical dramas, especially ones that paint Richard Nixon in a bad light. And I think the world of Michael Sheen, Frank Langella, Sam Rockwell, Rebecca Hall, and Oliver Platt. But “Frost/Nixon” is a good movie that was too commonly praised as a great one because of its subject matter and pedigree. Worth a rental? For sure. Worth a purchase or its Best Picture nomination? I don’t think so.

It’s easy to see why people fell in love with “Frost/Nixon”. Ron Howard expertly directs his entire ensemble, particularly his two leads. His work with actors has always been his strength. And professional critics have always had a soft spot for movies that paint journalists as heroes. And that’s what “Frost/Nixon” does. Most critics would love to have their David Frost experience, making a heavyweight like Tricky Dick start to sweat.

“Frost/Nixon” is about a legendary series of interviews between David Frost (Michael Sheen) and Richard Nixon (Frank Langella). Both men and the teams of intellectuals behind them saw the event as their moment for redemption. Frost would finally be seen as a serious journalist and Nixon would get the understanding and redemption that he felt he needed for Vietnam and Watergate.

For this viewer, “Frost/Nixon” falls victim to the weaknesses of Ron Howard’s directorial abilities. I’ve always felt a cool, whitewashing effect from Howard. There’s a distinct lack of passion in “Frost/Nixon” that places it firmly in the “good-not-great” category of most of his films. I don’t hate Howard’s filmography, but he’s never made anything that I loved either. “Frost/Nixon” is good enough and there’s a lot to like here, but it feels like another director could have hit a home run instead of this ground rule double.

Peter Morgan’s screenplay, based on his own award-winning play, displays this excellent writer’s flair for adult, intellectual dialogue. When you combine it with Langella’s award-worthy performance, “Frost/Nixon” is absolutely worth a look. But that doesn’t mean it’s not a missed opportunity at something greater. I can’t imagine people watching “Frost/Nixon” repeatedly, the true test of a great Blu-Ray release.

As for the Blu-Ray release of “Frost/Nixon” by Universal Home Video, it has a similar good-not-great vibe. The video and audio stand out more than the special features as Universal continues to excel in those departments. Howard’s film is presented in 1080P HD widescreen with a 2.35:1 aspect ratio and accompanied by an English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track.

Special features include Universal’s spectacular U-Control, a feature which allows picture-in-picture access to behind-the-scenes details and information. This time, viewers can watch “The Nixon Chronicles,” which includes actual footage from the real Frost/Nixon interviews.

Rather annoyingly, the back of the Blu-Ray case tells viewers to go to another DVD, “Frost/Nixon: The Original Watergate Interviews,” to see the whole thing. Because when I spend over $30 on a Blu-Ray, I want to be told to buy another DVD. A brief search reveals that the advertised DVD is owned by Liberation Entertainment. Whatever it cost, Universal should have paid them and made the original interviews available in their entirety on the Blu-Ray release of “Frost/Nixon”. That kind of material separates great Blu-Ray features from average ones.

Other special features include “Discovering Secrets,” “The Making of Frost/Nixon,” “The Real Interview,” “The Nixon Library,” deleted scenes, and a feature commentary by director Ron Howard.

‘Frost/Nixon’ is released by Universal Home Video and stars Frank Langella, Michael Sheen, Kevin Bacon, Rebecca Hall, Toby Jones, Matthew MacFadyen, Oliver Platt, and Sam Rockwell. It was written by Peter Morgan and directed by Ron Howard. It was released on April 21st, 2009. It is rated R.

Michael Sheen Joins Cast of ‘The Twilight Saga’s New Moon’

CHICAGO – Michael Sheen, one of the stars of last year’s Best Picture-nominated “Frost/Nixon,” has joined the cast of the “Twilight” sequel, “The Twilight Saga’s New Moon,” appearing with the already-cast Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, and Dakota Fanning in the film to be directed by Chris Weitz.

Sheen also appeared in the award-winning “The Queen” as Prime Minister Tony Blair and played a vampire before in 2003’s “Underworld,” co-starring Kate Beckinsale, and in this year’s “Underworld: The Rise of the Lycans”. Sheen will play Aro, the leader of the Volturi vampire coven from the book based on Stephenie Meyer’s “New Moon”. The casting news was broken by E! News today.

“Twilight,” which stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Ashley Greene and Taylor Lautner from director Catherine Hardwicke, has grossed $178 million domestically. This has put the “New Moon” sequel into production immediately and has spawned a series of casting rumors. Other books in the Stephenie Meyer series include “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn”.

Interview: Chicago ‘Underworld: Rise of the Lycans’ Writer Kevin Grevioux on Science-Based Vampires

CHICAGO – While Alfred Hitchcock and more recently M. Night Shyamalan have teetered between whether or not to write roles for themselves into their own scripts, there’s no tottering for Chicago-born Marvel Comics writer and “Underworld: Rise of the Lycans” character creator Kevin Grevioux.

For the inside story behind the 2009 “Underworld: Rise of the Lycans” film from the lips of the “Underworld” character creator (the original Kate Beckinsdale film opened in 2003), HollywoodChicago.com sat down with the vastly brawny and distinctly deep-voiced Kevin Grevioux on the film that makes the series a trilogy.

“When I wrote the original ‘Underworld’ script, I had my role in it and I knew what I had to do,” Grevioux said in a Chicago interview with HollywoodChicago.com editor-in-chief Adam Fendelman on the topic of his Lycan (werewolf) character named Raze. “I had to taper it to make sure it fit well within the film. I had to make it big enough but not too small.”

Grevioux continued: “After I finished my screenplay, the other writers (Len Wiseman and Danny McBride) were making the role bigger. We all were. But I said at one point: ‘Hold up, fellas. We can’t go down this path. If this role is too big, then they’re gonna get LL Cool J or whoever is the flavor-of-the-month black man to play it and I won’t be able to.’”

That’s when Grevioux knew it was time to defend his own character holy grail. He added: “So we tapered it down some so it would be cool for me but not as attractive to a bigger actor.”

This was at a time when Grevioux was new in the industry and hadn’t yet earned today’s prized Hollywood star power. He added: “At the time, none of us had done a film before. We were all new and had no power. I identify myself more as a writer than an actor. Acting is something I fell into because I had the look – whatever that means – or distinctiveness. But writing is really where I flourish. I have a wealth of ideas.”

To understand Grevioux’s “Underworld” writing in contrast to so many other vampire incarnations including the hit 2008 film “Twilight,” its 2009 sequel “New Moon,” “True Blood” on HBO, all the Anne Rice vampire novels and the underrated foreign child vampire film “Let the Right One In,” one must understand the source from which he derived his vampire and werewolf perspective.

As a self-professed conspiracy theorist and sci-fi fanatic with science degrees in microbiology and genetic engineering, Grevioux didn’t write “Underworld” vampires with the typical sense of mysticism. Instead, he created them through science in the way he believes they actually could be.

Originally born in Chicago, Kevin Grevioux is a Marvel Comics writer and is one of the originators of the “Underworld” series. Along with starring in “Underworld: Rise of the Lycans,” he joins Michael Sheen, Bill Nighy, Rhona Mitra and Steven Mackintosh in the film.

The “Underworld: Rise of the Lycans” event with Kevin Grevioux will take place from noon to 1 p.m. on Jan. 19, 2009 at Graham Crackers Comics, which is located at 77 E. Madison between Wabash and Michigan in downtown Chicago.

Kevin Grevioux has also been featured in the films “The Mask,” “Batman Forever,” “Charlie’s Angels,” “Planet of the Apes,” “Men in Black II,” “Cradle 2 the Grave” and “Underworld”.

CHICAGO – This 5-image slideshow contains official press images for Screen Gems’ “Underworld: Rise of the Lycans,” which stars Rhona Mitra, Bill Nighy, Michael Sheen, Kevin Grevioux, Steven Mackintosh, Tania Nolan, and Craig Parker from writers Danny McBride and Dirk Blackman & Howard McCain and director Patrick Tatopoulos. The film opens on Jan. 23, 2009.

Official synopsis: “Underworld: Rise of the Lycans delves into the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires, known as Death Dealers, and the barbaric Lycans (werewolves). A young Lycan, Lucian (Michael Sheen), emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor (Bill Nighy), the cruel vampire king who has persecuted them for hundreds of years. Lucian is joined by his secret lover, the beautiful vampire Sonja (Rhona Mitra), in his battle to free the Lycans from their brutal enslavement.”
