“The Dark Knight: The IMAX Experience” Hits 100,000 Viewers at Navy Pier IMAX Theatre, Gives Last Chance to Catch the Flick With “10 Dark Knights at 10” From Oct. 23 to Nov. 1, 2008

CHICAGO, October 20, 2008 – Navy Pier IMAX Theatre hosted its 100,000th viewer of The Dark Knight: The IMAX Experience at the midnight screening on Saturday (early Sunday) October 18, 2008. Chad Gunther, the lucky guest, was in town from Oshkosh, WI and won recognition at the screening and a Dark Knight Prize Package which included a Gotham throw blanket, Dark Knight logo apparel, and more.

To celebrate that more than 100,000 people have viewed The Dark Knight: The IMAX Experience since it opened on July 18, 2008 and to give fans a last chance to see the film before it’s gone, Navy Pier IMAX Theatre will host “10 Dark Nights at 10” in the lead-up to Halloween. Starting on Thursday October 23, 2008 and running through Saturday November 1, 2008, the film will screen once daily at 10 PM at Navy Pier IMAX Theater, 700 E. Grand Ave.

Tickets for The Dark Knight: The IMAX Experience are $15.00 for adults and $13.00 for children, and are available at http://www.imax.com/chicago.

The Dark Knight reunites director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale, who reprises the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne. In the film, Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets.

The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as The Joker.

The film also stars Academy Award-winner Michael Caine (The Cider House Rules) as Alfred; Academy Award-nominee Heath Ledger (Brokeback Mountain) as arch-villain The Joker; Gary Oldman as Lieutenant Jim Gordon; Aaron Eckhart as District Attorney Harvey Dent; Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes; and Oscar-winner Morgan Freeman (Million Dollar Baby) as Lucius Fox.

The Dark Knight is distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company. “The Dark Knight Prologue” has been rated PG-13 by the MPAA for intense violent content.
