CHICAGO – Is being single like an STD? Years of dating frustration have led Chicago single Megan Bentley to call herself “a walking STD: single, traumatized and desperate”. “The Match Off,” which is a new nationwide reality TV series on NBC, will air this Saturday, July 10, 2010 at midnight right after Saturday Night Live.
In the Chicago-filmed episode, matchmakers battle it out to find Megan’s dating cure. Megan is a 30-year-old Chicago dental sales representative. The episode features matchmakers Rachel Canis and Adam Fendelman (both of Best Foot Forward [19]) against PJ Osgood of It’s Just Lunch. In addition to being a director at Best Foot Forward, Adam Fendelman is also the founder and publisher of HollywoodChicago.com. A one-minute teaser for this episode can be watched now below!
“The Match Off” airs on NBC in six consecutive weekly episodes on Saturdays after Saturday Night Live. The official Web site for the series can be found here [20]. Here is the plot synopsis:
Can two dating experts find the perfect mate for America’s most eligible singles? Reality competition “The Match Off” answers the question. Each week, two matchmakers go head to head to find Mr. or Ms. Right for one picky client.
The professionals dish out relationship advice and sound off on the dates, but only one will be awarded the coveted Scepter of Love. Tune in to see who will be crowned the king or queen of hearts.
