Sad news via Variety [1]:

Actor Brad Renfro was found dead at his Los Angeles home early Tuesday, according to his lawyer Richard Kaplan.

The actor, who appeared in “Apt Pupil” and “The Client” as a child, was 25.

Renfro served 10 days in jail in May 2006 after pleading no contest to driving while intoxicated and pleading guilty to attempted possession of heroin.

He had recently completed shooting “The Informers” with Winona Ryder and Billy Bob Thornton.

Born in Knoxville, Tenn., he was discovered by director Joel Schumacher who cast him in “The Client” at age 10. He also appeared in “Law and Order: Criminal Intent,” “Ghost World,” “Tom and Huck” and “The Cure.”
