Prime Video’s ‘A League of Their Own’ will premiere in Rockford.

ROCKFORD, ILL. – It’s time for the classic film “A League of Their Own” to go back to their roots … Rockford, Illinois, home of the old timey woman’s baseball team the Rockford Peaches. To celebrate the NEW Prime Video series adaptation of “League,” and the 30th anniversary of the film, Prime Video will be premiering the series in a special Rockford screening on July 2nd, 2022.

CHICAGO – Penny Marshall was somewhat of an enigma, and admittedly not comfortable in the spotlight. The 1970s sitcom legend who evolved into a top American film director never seemed quite sure of her legacy, but she left behind a superior body of work that defined her as a filmmaker. Ms. Marshall died from complications due to diabetes on December 17th, 2018, at the age of 75.

CHICAGO – One of the great events in Chicago to interact with celebrity favorites is at the “Hollywood Celebrities and Memorabilia Show.” In 2011, the autumn event took place on October 1st and 2nd, and featured the “Happy Days” TV gang Henry Winkler, Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams, plus Barry Bostwick and Patricia Quinn from “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”

CHICAGO – A significant reunion took play at the Hollywood Celebrities & Memorabilia Show last weekend as three of the main characters from two great sitcoms from the 1970s reunited for a class picture. Henry Winkler of “Happy Days,” plus Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams of “Laverne & Shirley” were there.
