CHICAGO – Starfire from the TV series “Titans” has heroically taken on another persona. Actor Anna Diop breaks out as the title character in “Nanny,” an Amazon Studios film getting a limited release in theaters on November 23rd, before streaming on the Prime Video platform beginning on December 16th.

CHICAGO – One of the longest running and most important Black film festivals is right here in Chicago, as the 28th edition of the Black Harvest Film Festival has Opening Night on Friday, November 4th, and runs in-person until November 20th at the Gene Siskel Film Center in the downtown Loop. CHICAGO – The 58th Chicago International Film Festival (CIFF) is wrapping up on Sunday, October 23rd, but there is still a full weekend of events, including more Red Carpets, the Award Winners and the Best of the Fest screenings. CHICAGO – The 2022 Sundance Film Festival concluded on January 30th, and had a full weekend of award screenings. The festival is wrapping up as virtual/online for the second year in a row, meaning that again anyone/anywhere with a ticket or a pass got to indulge in the film offerings and events throughout the festival.

CHICAGO – The 2022 Sundance Film Festival announced their Grand Jury Prizes on January 28th, and the top films were “Nanny” (U.S. Dramatic), “The Exiles” (U.S. Documentary), “Utama” (World Cinema Dramatic) and “All That Breathes” (World Cinema Documentary).
