TV News: ‘24: Live Another Day’ to Premiere on FOX in Summer 2014

FOX announced today that Jack Bauer is returning to the network in “24: Live Another Day,” to premiere in Summer 2014 with 12 episodes representing 24 hours. We don’t know much more than that at this point other than Kiefer Sutherland will return, reunited with showrunner Howard Gordon.

Not much other than the fact that all three are strong examples of how FOX has had difficulty finding an identity in recent years.

It may have been left out of all Academy Award categories but this was easily one of the best movies of last year. And the few before that as well. Most people missed it in theaters. Abrams’ “Alcatraz,” new mystery “The Finder,” Kiefer Sutherland drama “Touch,” and the animated adaptation of “Napoleon Dynamite.” They also scheduled the return of two nearly-canceled shows — “Breaking In” and “Bob’s Burgers” — along with announcing that “I Hate My Teenage Daughter,” “Glee,” and “Bones” will be taking some time off in the winter, returning with new episodes in the spring.

Sutherland, who made Jack Bauer and ‘24’ a hit for the network, is signed on to the new drama series ‘Touch,’ which FOX ordered 13 new episodes of yesterday morning.
