Blu-ray Review: Insulting, Miscast ‘I Don’t Know How She Does It’
Submitted by BrianTT on January 30, 2012 - 2:15pmCHICAGO – “I Don’t Know How She Does It” could have been just another misogynistic (you would never see “I Don’t Know How HE Does It”…the very title implies sexism) alleged comedy but it goes well beyond that partially because it features one of the worst screenplays of 2011 but also because it is easily one of the most miscast movies ever made.
TV Review: Chicago-Set ‘Boss’ Begins With Shaky First Term
Submitted by BrianTT on October 21, 2011 - 10:02amCHICAGO – A television premiere is not unlike the first term of an elected candidate in that advertisements give way to actuality and constituents are forced to decide whether or not they want the candidate to be a part of their lives a second time.

Blu-Ray Review: ‘Toy Story’ Films Released in Advance of ‘Toy Story 3’
Submitted by BrianTT on March 25, 2010 - 4:46pmCHICAGO – If you don’t at least like the “Toy Story” movies, you’re probably kind of a jerk. Personally, I adore them both and have seen them multiple times on DVD; the standard go-to when babysitting nieces and nephews. And yet watching them again in glorious Disney HD, they still felt new. I’m blinded by love for Pixar, but these are must-owns for anyone with a Blu-ray player.

TV Review: Kelsey Grammer Should Know Better Than ‘Hank’
Submitted by BrianTT on September 30, 2009 - 12:52pmCHICAGO – Kelsey Grammer is such a TV veteran, a major part of two of the best sitcoms in the history of the medium in “Cheers” and “Frasier,” that it makes his decision to do something as generic, predictable, and unfunny as ABC’s “Hank” all the more disappointing. You would think he knew better by now.
Blu-Ray Review: ‘Swing Vote’ Wastes Great Cast on Predictable Script
Submitted by BrianTT on January 8, 2009 - 3:34pmCHICAGO – Joshua Michael Stern’s “Swing Vote” hit theaters at the peak of the Presidential campaign and it’s no coincidence that the Blu-Ray release lands in stores a week before President-Elect Obama takes office. With a great ensemble and old-fashioned sensibility, “Swing Vote” is a film that should work. Like a misguided campaign for office, it just doesn’t come together.
