CHICAGO – In high anticipation for the fourth “Twilight” film to hit the big screen, Summit Entertainment is providing more and more ways for fans to join in on the excitement. We recently wrote about the rerelease of the first three movies to theaters before “The Twlight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1” hits the big screen, but now Summit is bringing the films even closer to fans in the Chicago area.

CHICAGO – “The Last Airbender” was mercilessly-panned on its theatrical release and will likely pop up on a few “Worst of the Year” lists in the next few months. And yet, audiences didn’t seem to care too much, pushing the movie to nearly $320 million worldwide (although one wonders if it wouldn’t have made twice that were it actually good considering the fan base of the source material and prime summer release date).

CHICAGO – The choices that M. Night Shyamalan makes in the progress of his filmography have become as perplexing as his early mysteries. “The Last Airbender,” featuring Dev Patel from “Slumdog Millionaire,” is an adaptation of a previous animated series, and although aimed at kids in the end seems tentative and…aimless.

Aang (Noah Ringer) Makes his Escape in The Last Airbender

CHICAGO – The ancient martial arts get a workout with M. Night Shyamalan’s live action version of the anime “The Last Airbender.” Featuring Dev Patel – the contestant in the Oscar-winning “Slumdog Millionaire” – and Aasif Mandvi of “The Daily Show,” Airbender uses special effects and action to tell its story.

CHICAGO – We’ve spent the last few weeks working our way through the fourth collection of the series subtitled “8 Films to Die For” and found a few highlights and lowlights of the fourth annual “After Dark Horrorfest” that we would are now unafraid to share.

CHICAGO – Paramount Pictures has just released the HD teaser trailer for the new M. Night Shyamalan film “The Last Airbender,” which stars Jackson Rathbone, Nicola Peltz, Cliff Curtis, Dev Patel (from the Oscar-winning film “Slumdog Millionaire”), Noah Ringer, Jessica Andres, Seychelle Gabriel, Shaun Toub, Aasif Mandvi and Keong Sim.

CHICAGO – How bluntly can I put this? “S. Darko” is one of the worst movies ever made. It is an absolute head-scratching experience that leaves you not pondering the secrets of the universe but how this cinematic nightmare got made in the first place. Donnie saved the world for this? I’d rather get hit by a plane engine than sit through it again.

CHICAGO – It’d be a small role for AnnaLynne McCord of TV’s “90210,” but E! Online reported moments ago that she has auditioned for the role of Heidi in the highly anticipated “Twilight” sequel “New Moon”.

CHICAGO – With the casting rumors debunked about “High School Musical” star Vanessa Hudgens potentially appearing in “Twilight” sequel “New Moon,” another hot casting scoop just sprouted up.
